The experience
The guided tour begins at the Mémorial du Débarquement et de la Libération en Provence, located on Mont Faron. Accompanied by an interpreter, you'll explore the museum's different areas to learn about the preparation, unfolding and consequences of the Allied landings in Provence in August 1944.
Throughout the tour, historical objects, eyewitness accounts and archive films illustrate the events and bring the visit to life. The modern scenography allows visitors to identify the key players in the conflict, and explore the issues at stake during the Liberation.
The visit also includes a reflection on the transmission of memory and the role of this National High Place of Remembrance. From the site, you can enjoy a remarkable panorama of Toulon harbor, directly linked to the historical events evoked.
