The collegiate church of Saint-Pierre, perched on a hill
The Saint-Pierre collegiate church is one of the last vestiges of the old fortified village of Six-Fours. From its 210-metre height, it dominates the Toulon harbour. Once through the door, you can admire the unusual construction, with its Gothic-style nave and six chapels. The colored lights of the new stained glass windows lend a warm atmosphere to the interior of the building, enhancing the murals.
Transformed into a classical concert hall, the collegiate church of Saint-Pierre welcomes internationally renowned artists for prestigious concerts every summer.
The Cap Nègre battery
Located in the Parc de la Méditerranée, at the tip of the Pointe du Nègre, the Cap Nègre battery is a military defense structure built in 1846. Thanks to its position between Sanary and the Le Brusc roadstead, the battery played an essential role in protecting the Toulon coastline. It is now part of Carré d’art, one of the four exhibition spaces promoted by Six-Fours to reinforce its cultural commitment. Here you can contemplate temporary exhibitions, including the Santon fair held every year in the run-up to Christmas.
Cultural tour of the Maison du Cygne
The Maison du Cygne and its art center are located in the Bois de la Coudoulière in Six-Fours-les-Plages. The building, a maison de maître, is a former tile factory, in operation until 1984. The swan was his emblem. The garden, which has been awarded the “jardin remarquable” label, is structured into several thematic zones. You’ll love strolling through the sculpture garden and vegetable garden, and discovering the giant contemporary works and temporary exhibitions in the peaceful surroundings.
