The experience
The Mémorial du Débarquement et de la Libération en Provence offers a themed visit dedicated to the Resistance during the Second World War.

Accompanied by a mediator, you’ll explore the history of the Provence Landing, from its preparation to the Liberation in August 1944, with a focus on the birth and organization of the Var resistance networks.

The tour highlights their various missions and their role in preparing for D-Day. It uses historical objects, eyewitness accounts and multimedia to make this period accessible and concrete.

Set on Mount Faron, the memorial also offers a setting conducive to discovery, combining historical content with a view of the landscape.

Please note: The Provence D-Day Memorial will be closed from Monday, June 22, 2026, through Friday, June 26, 2026, inclusive
Closed every Monday in January, February, March, November, and December
October through May: 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. / 1:15 p.m.–5:15 p.m.
June through September: 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. / 1:15 p.m.–6:30 p.m. (open continuously in July and August)
Last admission 30 minutes before closing
Weather conditions: The cable car may be closed in the event of high winds (contact the reception desk at 04 94 92 68 25). From June through September, access to the Var mountain ranges may be closed due to fire risk. In this case, access to the Faron is prohibited.
