Tasting Expo at Le Niel

The Musée du Niel invites you to enjoy a unique cultural and sensory experience on the Giens peninsula.
In the enchanting setting of the Port du Niel, let yourself be guided for a privileged discovery of the exhibition 2025, Dubuffet et les magiciens – Expressions singulières 1945-2000.

The evening begins in the museum garden, before a guided tour of the exhibition. You’ll discover the teeming universe of artists who, from Jean Dubuffet to the CoBrA movement, via Michel Tapié and his concept of “art autre”, have shaped a different path for contemporary art, marked by spontaneity, originality and raw expressivity.

The exhibition brings together emblematic works by Dubuffet, Alechinsky, Chaissac, Corneille, Baya, Michaux, Jorn and many others, around the idea of free, singular creation, off the beaten track.

At the end of the tour, our team will welcome you on the seafront terrace for a moment of relaxation and indulgence. As the sun sets, enjoy a selection of AOP Côtes de Provence wines, accompanied by Provencal bites (anchoïade, tapenade…) carefully prepared by our chef.

A few words about the 2025 exhibition – Dubuffet and the magicians
Expressions singulières 1945 – 2000
In the post-war years, Jean Dubuffet shook up the artistic landscape by defining Art Brut: a pure, instinctive form of expression on the bangs of academic conventions. At the same time, the CoBrA movement explored a primitive, vibrant pictorial language. A little later, Michel Tapié coined the notion of “art autre”, inviting us to explore a parallel dimension of creation.
This intellectual and artistic effervescence revealed a generation of artists with singular approaches, true precursors of the great contemporary movements.
