Suggested experience
Your guide takes you on a tour of the Canal des arrosants, a series of canals built in the Middle Ages to harness the flowing waters of the Reppe. The tour highlights the Canal des Moulins, fountains and gardens, evidence of a hydraulic system that was essential to the town’s development.
During the tour, you’ll learn how the people of Ollioules took advantage of this resource to develop agriculture and the flower industry, making the town the flower capital between 1850 and 1990.
The tour also includes a visit to the Palisson mill, a 15th-century flour mill that today serves as a museum of the miller’s trade, illustrating in concrete terms the use of water in the daily activities of yesteryear.
