Loop around Faron
This loop is a great challenge for the more athletic. The profile promises some fine climbs, with sections in excess of 10%. Start and finish points are at Toulon SNCF station.
The route starts out in the streets of Toulon and follows a beautiful arc around the north side of Mont Faron. Once you've reached Fort Rouge, you're off to climb the mountain overlooking Toulon. Crossing Mont Faron is a truly historic and panoramic journey!
The route alternates between spectacular views over Toulon harbor and sites that celebrate the memory of veterans who fell in the liberation of Provence.
When you reach the Faron plateau, you'll pass the cable car arrival station. Next to it, you'll find a panoramic bar where you can enjoy a refreshing drink. Enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the city, hills, islands and Mediterranean. Afterwards, you can visit the Musée du mémorial du débarquement en Provence or the Fauverie du Faron.
The tour ends on a high note with a pleasant, winding descent to the city gates. Stay safe, as the road is shared.
