Well-kept traditions
Le Brusc is a little Saint-Tropez, minus the glitz and minus the fishermen, a haven for celebrities in search of authenticity. Fishermen sell their fish in the harbor and travel around in pointu, a traditional Mediterranean boat. These little boats with funny names liven up the port and the lagoon.

Au Brusc, le plus grand lagon de Méditerranée n’est pas une lagune classique : ses 40 hectares d’eau de mer sont protégés par un récif de posidonie et par l’archipel des Embiez. Au cœur de la lagune, la cymodocée sert de nurserie à la faune marine. Pour soutenir leur restauration – programme porté par Les Bruscadou – 5 gestes demeurent essentiels :
– Marchez hors de la lagune pour laisser les végétaux repousser.
– Préservez les fonds, ne vous y baignez pas : le manque de profondeur vous oblige à marcher, ce qui détruit l’herbier.
– Glissez en douceur : seuls les kayaks, paddles et pirogues sont autorisés.
– Préférez les accès dédiés : base nautique, ponton de la Maison du Patrimoine ou port du Gaou.
– Naviguez à distance – à plus de 50m des bords – pour éviter l’échouage et les coups de pagaie.
Cette nurserie naturelle étant protégée, la chasse sous-marine n’est pas autorisée. Pour vos moments de baignade, rendez-vous à la plage située à l’extrémité de l’île du Grand Gaou.
A trip to the Le Brusc market
On Thursday mornings, the Rue du Port (Quai Saint-Pierre) becomes pedestrianized to make way for the weekly Provencal market. It’s one of the region’s only seaside markets. After shopping for souvenirs and local produce, take a moment to enjoy an aperitif on a sunny terrace. Some of the hamlet’s “institutions” have vintage facades that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time a few decades.
Le Brusc comes alive
Bien qu’il ait sa réputation de village tranquille, Le Brusc vit tout au long de l’année. Plusieurs évènements sont organisés par les associations locales : rencontres littéraires, sardinades, fêtes patronales ou encore «baleti» (soirée dansante, à prononcer avec l’accent provençal). La traditionnelle bouillabaisse géante, préparée au mois de juin, mérite à elle seule votre venue au Brusc.

We recommend parking in the free, guarded Gardiole parking lot. If you have a full load, drop your belongings at the pier before parking.

How to get here ?
To reach Le Brusc by bus, take Mistral line 70 from Toulon bus station, then change at the “Gabois” stop to get on line 87.
By car, take exit 12 off the A50 freeway, follow signs for Six-Fours-les-Plages, then Le Brusc. When you arrive in Le Brusc, park in one of the on-site parking lots: the Charmettes parking lot and the Port parking lot are subject to a charge from May to October. The Citadelle parking lot is chargeable all year round.
