Self-guided tour of the Cap Garonne Mine
Price : 7€
The Musée de la Mine du Pradet traces the history ofcopper mining , which began 168 years ago by Piedmontese miners. After 60 years of activity and 25,000 tons extracted, the site was closed, then reborn in 1994 thanks to the initiative of local authorities and enthusiasts.
Today, equipped with headphones, visitors plunge into the ancient galleries that have remained intact, discovering the history of copper, mining techniques and the lives of miners in the XIXᵉ century. The experience is enriched by mineralogical, geological and temporary exhibitions(“The Mediterranean, Pirate Garden”), before enjoying the natural setting surrounding the mine.
