Fernando Sandoval is so well known in Giens that even the butterflies greet him when they see him.

Follow it from the charming little port of La Madrague to Pointe des Chevaliers. A fun walk for your children, not to be missed. And don’t miss the coastal tour, a great family outing with the same guide.

From the Madrague harbor, follow the coastal path to find the clues left by Fernando, recognize the butterflies, learn to observe them, differentiate between a butterfly and a moth, and understand why the cicada sings.

It’s not just about insects, it’s also about botany: learn to recognize the typical plants of the maquis and understand its geology. As we walk along the coast, Fernando reminds us of the importance of the Posidonia meadow, the little “algae” that cover our beaches (and which are in fact plants).

All you have to do is put on your shoes (closed-toe, basket-style shoes) and follow Fernando on the trail.

We ask each family to limit their presence to a maximum of two accompanying adults, in order to encourage a dynamic visit focused on children. Thank you for your understanding

Equipment: walking shoes or closed-toe sneakers, cap, sunglasses, water, mosquito spray. Flip-flops or unsuitable footwear are not recommended.

The visit is subject to favorable weather conditions. It will be cancelled in the event of bad weather, particularly in the event of strong winds and the closure of the mountain ranges.
