La Capte
Le village de la Capte est charmant par ses singularités. On le reconnait facilement grâce à ses pins parasols, stars du hameau. Dès votre arrivée, les fanions de la rue principale, ses nombreux restaurants et magasins vous embarquent dans une ambiance conviviale et festive. Au bout du chemin, la plage de sable fin, couleur caramel, est bien abritée du mistral. À quelques pas, la balade du Pas du Saunier vous permet d’observer en toute tranquillité les oiseaux migrateurs du salin des Pesquiers.
L’Ayguade
En fin d’après-midi, pendant que les joueurs de pétanque s’abritent sous les arbres de la place principale, les familles dégustent des glaces en revenant de la plage. Tout autour, les restaurants se remplissent. La piste cyclable, douce et plaisante, vous guide vers les anciens salins. La large plage de l’Ayguade, de sable et de galets, est le terrain privilégié des enfants comme des sportifs qui viennent jouer au beach volley ou courir le long du rivage. Son marché provençal, le mercredi matin, et ses animations, proposées tout au long de l’année, font de l’Ayguade un quartier où il fait bon vivre.
The port
Sailboat enthusiasts busy themselves on the quaysides, where strollers walk, Hyères locals enjoy a festive aperitif in the sunset light, and the café terraces are always full… During regattas and summer evenings, there’s always a cheerful atmosphere at Saint-Pierre port, with the chime of clashing masts. The colorful Sunday market attracts visitors and locals alike, adding a delicious note to this maritime melody.
Les Borrels and la Sauvebonne
Renowned for its beaches, Hyères hides a little-known treasure: Les Borrels district. To the northeast of the city, in the heart of the countryside, you’ll discover an area of countryside adorned with numerous winegrowing estates. Combine sport and nature in the Borrels municipal park: its CRAPA (Centre rustique d’activités de plein air) sports trail is ideal for a family outing on foot or by bike, covering 20 hectares. A little further afield, the ponds of Sauvebonne are home to a wide variety of species and birds, which can be observed on open days or guided tours organized by the LPO.
Our advice
Friday morning market in La Capte in summer is a must. Out of season, the Sunday morning flea market is all the rage.
