Owners of vacation rentals

Seasonal rental owners, you will find on this page some useful regulatory information for your business:

Mandatory declaration of furnished accommodation

Anyone offering furnished accommodation (villa, apartment or studio) for rent to tourists must make a prior declaration, with acknowledgement of receipt, to their local council.
This rule, set out in article L324-1-1 of the French Tourism Code, is the result of article 24 of the law (n°2009-888) of July 22, 2009 on the development and modernization of tourism services.
For accommodation in the Toulon Provence Méditerranée area, this declaration for seasonal rentals can be made online at https://www.declaloc.fr.

Collection and payment of tourist tax

The taxe de séjour is applicable all year round, for anyone over 18, and per night. The taxe de séjour is levied on people who are not domiciled in the commune and do not own a residence there, for which they would be liable to pay the taxe d’habitation. Owners of seasonal rentals must collect the tax from their tenants and pay it to the Toulon Provence Méditerranée tourist tax office.
