Program
The Mediterranean has long been a strategic trading zone, attracting pirates and privateers since ancient times. This guided tour immerses you in this history, while exploring the emblematic landscapes of the island of Porquerolles.
The tour takes in several of the island’s major natural and cultural heritage sites, including Fort Sainte-Agathe, the Moulin du Bonheur and the lighthouse. Access to the fort’s tower is included, offering a 360° panorama of the Hyères roadstead.
The walk also addresses the issues surrounding biological invasions. After years of cohabitation, certain exotic plants now represent a challenge to the fragile balance of ecosystems.
But local plants have not said their last word! Hidden away in their seed bank at the Conservatoire Botanique, native species are preparing to defend their territory. During the walk, like real privateers, you’ll devise the best strategies to foil the plans of these new pirates!
Designed as a fun and educational activity, this outing invites young and old to take an active part, in a friendly atmosphere, in the heart of the Port-Cros National Park.
