Visit two remarkable gardens
Once owned by American novelist Edith Wharton and the viscount of Noailles, the gardens of the parcs Saint-Bernard and Sainte-Claireoverlook the old town of Hyères.
They are an invitation to travel and tell the story of their creators. The plant varieties are exceptional and well worth a visit, whatever the season.
In the garden of Castel Sainte-Claire, stroll through the park, planted with subtropical species from South America and Australia. The guide, who has a passion for botany, will reveal the secrets of local species. From the panoramic terraces, you can admire the landscape from the town of Hyères all the way to the island of Porquerolles and the Îles d’Or.
In the Parc Saint-Bernard, located just below the Villa Noailles, you can stroll between terraces and dry stone walls. Discover exotic and Mediterranean varieties as you plunge into the heart of Provence. Smell the rosemary, myrtle and acacia, admire the beautiful three-hundred-year-old almond tree: awaken your senses.
