First of all, we're passionate dancers, and for us, well-being and a positive attitude come through dance and music. After attending various schools in legendary cities such as Grenoble, Toulouse, Lyon and above all the capital, Paris, and with solid experience in the dance world since the 80s, we have acquired a technique that makes our rock fluid and enjoyable, thanks to a judicious cocktail of several techniques:
Rock, swing, boogie, lindy and balboa.
So in 2009, we decided to share our passion by opening our own dance school in the Var: Rock and Swing Var by Danse Thérapie.
We've become the go-to specialists for anyone wanting to learn or progress in rock or swing.
Our aim is to introduce dancers to the basics of rock and roll, with breaks (figures, footwork, breaks, etc.) from swing, lindy, boogie and balboa to make this sporty dance even more enjoyable.
Thanks to this technique, we can dance to different styles and musical trends (boogie, swing, jazzy, etc.).
Part of the swing family, we also teach West Coast Swing, a very enjoyable dance for all ages. We are affiliated to the Fédération Française de Danse, which has awarded us a Certificat Fédéral d'Initiateur for teaching Rock, West Coast Swing and Lindy Hop.
As well as teaching these dances, we organise or run several dance evenings a month in the Var, in partnership with certain establishments. These evenings are open to all, and are a great mix of joy, pleasure and conviviality, with rhythms from the 30s, 40s and 50s as well as from today, music that's as enjoyable to dance to as it is to listen to. Our music also extends to more modern sounds, thanks to a number of groups who have made a name for themselves in the world of swing.
If you like this kind of music, you can come and learn to dance with us from September onwards, either at La Salle 223 rue Henri Poincarré or at Espace Dance 876 chemin de la Farlède Zac les Playes La Seyne sur Mer.
As the dance evenings get under way again, we're counting on you to join us and simply come and dance for fun.
