Running time: 1 hour 20 minutes

A funny, lighthearted, and sentimental comedy, this play highlights the complexity of human relationships, particularly within families. Simon, a modern-day bachelor; Madeleine, his mother, a “praying mantis”; and Anne, his childhood sweetheart. Simon returns to his mother’s house after several years away.

But no sooner has he had time to reconnect than an incident sets off a wild chain of events punctuated by absurd lies. Simon and his friend Anne scramble to hide the impossible truth from his mother, allowing grievances that have been swept under the rug for far too long to resurface! If he wants to get out of this, he’ll have to quickly make up a story. And the story he invents is precisely the one he’s trying to escape!

*Until Death Do Us Part* is a tragicomedy of the absurd. It makes us question romantic and family relationships, a life that flouts taboos, and our relationship with death. The humor—highly sarcastic—serves the sole purpose of reminding us of the absurdity of our human existence.
