You’ll be able to identify and observe live plankton under a microscope, discover the families of marine animals and their habitats in the Mediterranean, dive into an underwater video to identify the species you might encounter there, understand the many roles of seagrass beds, or simply let yourself be surprised by the sounds of the sea and the biodiversity hidden so close to us…
Developed and organized by Aurélie VION and Fanny WITKOWSKI, marine biologists and environmental educators at the Paul Ricard Oceanographic Institute.
9 educational and interactive workshops, each lasting 25 minutes, designed to help you discover the richness of the marine environment and raise awareness of the threats facing marine ecosystems.
Plankton: the infinitely small with the role of a giant, including observation of live plankton under a microscope
• The “8 Families” game: discovering the main families of marine animals (an introduction to classification)
• Mediterranean habitats
• Seagrass beds (Posidonia, etc.)
• Waste (sources, movement, and impacts of macro-waste and microplastics; solutions)
• The sounds of the sea (raising awareness about noise pollution)
• Can You See Me? (underwater video with freeze frames to identify species that can be observed underwater along our coasts)
• Hidden Biodiversity: discovering often-hidden flora and fauna
• Aquaculture: new workshop for 2025
