In Scotland, General Macbeth receives a prophecy from three witches: he will become king. Driven by Lady Macbeth’s all-consuming ambition, he murders King Duncan to seize the throne. But guilt and paranoia take hold of the doomed couple, dragging them into a spiral of violence and madness from which they will not emerge unscathed.
