Guided Tour of the Canal des Arrosants

Your guide will take you on a tour of the Canal des Arrosants, a network of canals built as early as the Middle Ages to harness the rushing waters of the Reppe River. The tour highlights the Canal des Moulins, the fountains, and the gardens—all testaments to a hydraulic system that was essential to the town’s development.
As the tour progresses, you’ll learn how the residents of Ollioules harnessed this resource to foster the growth of agriculture and the flower industry, making the town the “flower capital” between 1850 and 1990.
The tour also includes a visit to the Palisson Mill, a 15th-century flour mill that now serves as a museum dedicated to the milling trade, offering a hands-on illustration of how water was used in daily life in the past.
