MANO x ALTO : Centre des métiers d'Art d'Ollioules

Description and principles of the concept:
The town of OIIiouIes is making three shared workshops available to local craft professionals and creators based in the area, as well as other professionals from the surrounding region (TPM and surrounding area):

- a 72 m2 wood workshop
- a 44 m2 ceramics workshop
- a 37 m2 plastic and hybrid arts/research/materials workshop.
Each space can accommodate between 6 and 12 people, depending on the activity.

The Centre Mano X Alto is also a place to meet and exchange ideas, with an outdoor courtyard for afterworks and other events during the summer season.

The shared Workshops and Fablab form a common and original space-continuum where it will be possible to work, make, design, initiate or train, generate encounters, new connections and new projects. A place to create, share, transmit, learn, innovate, hybridize and dialogue between disciplines and know-how.

A "space for making" yourself or with others, an extension of the professional craftsman's individual workshop. A "third place" in which professionals, craftspeople, artists, creative people and amateurs will find high-quality, brand-new tools to complement their own workshops and equipment, enabling them to deliver and/or host their own introductory/training/advanced courses for their trainees/clients, or to be mobilized as part of collective projects.

Professionals will find it of interest, either individually for their own activity, or in terms of expertise associated with use by the various audiences using the workshops. They will be able to create objects and works of art, but also new links, new collaborative working practices and cooperative ventures with other professional craftsmen, artists and designers, for individual projects (training courses, internships, master classes, etc.) and collective projects (co-productions, workshops, hackathons, etc.).
