Le vallon de la Solitude

Leave the village on the path heading south. Visit the small St Tropez chapel on the left, go down the stairs and rejoin the main path. After passing the Hôtel du Manoir, continue towards the far end of the bay, passing the Solitude stream and the marshy fringe where Provence cane and tamarisk grow, then turn left under the statue of Saint Joseph. You are now entering the Solitude valley. Follow the path to La Maison aux Vaches, then turn left over a culvert towards the dam. Go around it, straight ahead and then right to join the Route des Forts. Follow it down to the "Fort du Moulin" fork. Walk 200m and turn right to visit the small marine cemetery. On exiting, turn right to the fort. Walk around it to admire the view of the Port-Cros roadstead and the islet of Bagaud, then return to the village.
