Lavoir Saint Vincent fountain

Toulon

Fountain on Place Vincent Raspail, built by marble-maker Jouve to plans drawn up by architect Gueit. The first washhouse was built in 1615; the current washhouse dates from 1832.

This square was the site of one of the town's first 4 washhouses, dating from the 19th century.
This square and fountain have long been a place dedicated to women. The sound of the beater came to an end in 1975.
