La pointe du vaisseau

Hyères

To the south-east of the island of Port-Cros, Pointe du Vaisseau is a dive that closely resembles La Gabinière, both in terms of the flora and fauna you'll encounter.

Unlike La Gabinière Est or Sec de la Gabinière, there is much less current. The site is exposed to the easterly wind, and protected from the Mistral. The Pointe is closed to anchoring, but there is a buoy reserved primarily for diving clubs, where you can anchor (as is often the case around Port-Cros island).

Groupers are plentiful in the area. They come to you very easily, as they are used to divers. The corraligene drop-off is not to be missed. Apogons and moray eels are numerous on this site. The spot is also home to dogfish, capons, moray eels, conger eels, spiny lobsters, gobies and slipper lobsters.
