Fort Lamalgue
Toulon
A fort built in the second half of the 18th century to defend Toulon’s eastern land approaches and to reinforce the position of Fort Saint Louis facing the sea. It remains the property of the Navy today and is closed to the public.
Historically, this fort served to protect Toulon from attacks from the city on the east side and from attacks by sea on the south side.
Located on the Mourillon hill to the east of Toulon, it now houses various departments responsible for managing the French Navy's personnel (pay calculation center, archiving of administrative files, etc.).
