Ex Votos collection
Kept outside the church during restoration work on the interior of the Collegiate Church of St. Paul, the ex-votos have now been reinstalled in the narthex.

Faithful to the gradual, random enrichment of the ensemble, the presentation of the ex-votos follows no artistic, chronological or thematic bias.
However, the most remarkable works are hung as close as possible to the public.
The 430 ex-votos in the Collegiate Church of St. Paul are one of the most important collections in Provence, testifying to a society's relationship with the sacred.
The 430 ex-votos in the collegiate church of Saint Paul are one of the most important collections in Provence, bearing witness to a society and its relationship with the sacred.
Most of the ex-votos come from the Notre-Dame de Consolation pilgrimage chapel, built in the 11th century on the hill of Costebelle. After the destruction of this shrine during the bombing raids of August 1944, the ex-votos were transferred to the narthex of the collegiate church of Saint-Paul.
Made in fulfillment of a wish or as a result of protection, the ex-votos in the collegiate church of Saint-Paul all take the form of small votive paintings in a variety of media and techniques. They illustrate scenes of daily life in the face of danger or risk.
