Espace Nature Départemental du Plan de la Garde
135 hectares of natural space in the middle of an urban area, the Espace Nature Départemental du Plan located in the communes of La Garde and Le Pradet is unique in the south of France. It is home to numerous birds and remarkable biodiversity.

Regulations
Dogs are allowed on the site, but are subject to special provisions designed to protect naturalist interests and encourage cohabitation:
- prohibited in areas of high natural value (central zone of the ponds), as their presence could have a serious impact on the habitat of certain birds ;
- prohibited in landscaped areas such as allotments and playgrounds....
- allowed on the rest of the site if kept on a leash;
- collection of droppings.
Other simple rules must be observed:
- Fire is prohibited at all times of the year (including smoking);
- the need, for safety reasons, for cyclists using the pontoons to dismount, respect for the paths laid out and much more.
For several years now, daily patrols - some of which have recently been undertaken by sworn agents - have been set up to raise public awareness and ensure respect for the site and its regulations, so that the natural riches of this remarkable area can coexist with the needs of the public.
Built on stilts 3.5 metres above the ground, the Maison départementale de la nature du Plan is a privileged vantage point for observing the ecological wealth of the 135 hectares of nature, forest, meadows and lakes that make up the site. It is also a place for information and exhibitions on the Plan's biodiversity
and the many Espaces naturels sensibles (ENS) of the Var department. Admission to the Maison départementale de la nature du Plan is free.
Throughout the year, guided tours and themed workshops are offered free of charge to the public.
