Ecole élémentaire des Trois-Quartiers

Toulon

Built between 1905 and 1907 by architect Charles Maurel and inaugurated in 1908. The entire elementary school is listed as a historic monument.

The school is built on a U-shaped plan, comprising two forecourts in the style of an ancient temple, three wings housing the classrooms, and single-storey corner pavilions for the teachers' living quarters.
The facades of the wings feature pillars adorned with patterned ceramic tiles, while the north facades of the pavilions contain semicircular arches topped by small paired arcades. Bands of blue and burgundy ceramic tiles sit atop the four pavilion facades.
