Coastal path hike - Ile des Embiez

Six-Fours-les-Plages

A few turns of propellers of the container, you will join the island of Embiez where a mosaic of landscapes of a striking diversity awaits you.

Route 3: The Island of Flowers
Starting and ending point: the port

1) From the port, head toward Salins Beach and then to the island’s northwest tip. You’ll discover Mediterranean vegetation consisting of palm trees, pines, laurel, and tamarisk, which bloom in delicate shades of pinkish-white in the summer.

2) You’ll reach the old Fort Saint-Pierre, home to the Paul Ricard Oceanographic Institute’s aquarium.

3) You can continue your walk to Pointe Cougoussa (as some call it), where an old maritime watchtower stands. From this highest point (62 m), an exceptional panoramic view stretching from Marseille to Toulon awaits you.

4) You’ll return to the pier by walking past the vineyards of Les Embiez, which produce rosé, white, and red wines. The first vines were planted in 1922.

5) You’ll board the boat again at the pier and head toward the port of Le Brusc.
