Bird Park

Toulon

The park owes its name to the many birds that live here: pigeons, turtle doves, blackbirds, thrushes and various passerines. The former 19th-century greenhouse has been converted into an aviary and is home to pigeons, parakeets and peacocks (depending on the season).

The park is densely wooded, with many large Aleppo pines (Pinus halepensis) and a few cedars. Rarer conifers include Tetraclinis articulata, on the boulevard Paban side, with light, feathery foliage and reticulated fruit. A pond runs around the park, where ducks, geese and swans live in semi-liberty.
