The 1st battery was reorganized under Louis Philippe 1er (1846-50). Exhibition area.
The battery is a military coastal defense structure. Its advantageous position between the Bay of Sanary and the Le Brusc roadstead gives it an essential role in protecting the Toulon coastline.
