Master work by the architect Paul Page (inaugurated 1899); the institute is a magnificent monument with an oriental facade on the shores of Lazaret Bay.
The institute is a research and teaching centre attached to the University of Lyon and home to the Antarès research laboratory.
The institute is not open to the public
