Formerly known as the "Marché à l'huile", the Place à l'huile was once home to the Maison des têtes, a listed building. When the latter collapsed in 1989 following a gas explosion, killing 13 people, the Maison des têtes was rebuilt identically in 1995, and a commemorative plaque was affixed.
