Église de la nativité de la Vierge
La Garde
The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin has Saint Maur as its secondary patron saint. The façade is in the Louis XV style, and the interior is Tuscan. A plan was drawn up by Honoré Vaccon in 1778, and implemented by Toulon architect Joseph Bourgarel.
In 1784, Vottier, engineer for the city of Toulon, was entrusted with the management of the works. Devastated by the revolutionary armies during the siege of Toulon, it was used as a stable and even a firing range. Abandoned until 1822, it was restored and returned to worship in 1828. The church contains an 18th-century gilded wooden reliquary bust of Saint Maur and bas-reliefs of the pulpit by painter Bernard Senequier. A bell tower was added in 2000.
