Concert - McDonnel Trio

The McDonnell Trio tours the stage with its dual French-Irish heritage and a musical journey marked by wonderful adventures. Its repertoire speaks as much of Ireland as it does of bluegrass or universal songs that tell the story of peoples and migrations. The McDonnell Trio’s musical journey began as a family project nearly twenty years ago, so when violinist and singer Soazig Hamelin took over from Michael McDonnell, it became clear that Irish music is also a beautiful story of friendship! Deeply rooted in its rich cultural heritage, the revitalized group continues its journey with universal songs that tell the story of Ireland and its diaspora against the backdrop of a family saga. Sometimes a cappella, always in harmony, the violin, accordion, and guitar create a new backdrop for the voices of the McDonnell Trio.
